    Pioneer BDP-95FP Blu Ray Player

I just want to let you know this is the first blu ray player i have owned so i had nothing to compare it with. The unit is well made and easy to use the quality of the audio and video seem to be high quality to any ones standards so i am happy with that. The not so impressive load time of the movie and even to eject the disc is a lot slower than my Panasonic and Sony DVD players that i have. I will give this a five star because i feel anything good is worth waiting for.

    Slow to Start

I listen to a lot of music more than watching DVDs. Great audio quality through my system, but it is slow to power up, load disc and change tracks. The remote didn't come with this so that's a problem for video discs which have chapters. Looking for replacement remote.

  • Very good in picture and sound quality

Out of the box....very nice build quality on the player itself. Build quality on the remote control is a bit cheap, and not as nice as my Pioneer SC-05 remote. Load times are slow on this unit, but not a huge deal with me. What matters is PQ and SQ, which are both very good (compared to my previous Sony S-350 BDP). I also look forward to demoing this player for music CDs. While unit does not carry some of the modern functions such as Netflix and Skype, it is a very solid BDP. The only reason this unit did not get 5 stars is the mediocre quality of remote and slow load times.

  • Pioneer Elite

The player is phenomenal... but it operates slower than most other players on the market...if picture and sound quality are you primary concerns, this is a good fit...if you want to speed and convenience, this is probably not a good choice for you.

  • Elite blue ray dvd player

Even if you do not have a 1080P, I matched it up with an Elite 1540 720P , WOW. A little pricey, but worth it. The upscaling to 720P and 1080I is quite good although not as good as the Elite 79AVI (a non blue ray dvd player), but this unit is awesome. Two drawbacks on this unit are 1) it takes about 2 minutes from power on to ready to load dvd, and 2) the remote is not backlit, hard to use unless there is ample lighting in room. Best unit under $1000 bucks, and in my opinion ,twice as good as any other brand. Hooked it to a buddies Panasonic 1080P and it definitely shows why Pioneer Elite is a leader in DVD electronics.
