cheap aluminum not like my vintage pot
well it is what it is its very thin and not very strong but its not expensive either. it will definitely work for camping so i still gave 5 stars knowing from other reviews about it i just would like to find a better built coffee pot like the one i have but mine is smaller and has a plastic handle that iv melted a little in the past, on this pot I bent the handle so it wont fall over but can be pulled from side to side and stay upright when its in the fire, like i mentioned it will do the job also if you try to force the top on it will bend the stem so be patient with it and happy campingwell it is what it is its very thin and not very strong but its not expensive either. it will definitely work for camping so i still gave 5 stars knowing from other reviews about it i just would like to find a better built coffee pot like the one i have but mine is smaller and has a plastic handle that iv melted a little in the past, on this pot I bent the handle so it wont fall over but can be pulled from side to side and stay upright when its in the fire, like i mentioned it will do the job also if you try to force the top on it will bend the stem so be patient with it and happy camping

It's made of cheap aluminum. The actual percolator tube and basket is easily bent. Does not percolate properly. Took me forever to figure this percolator out. I had to shove a paper towel down the pour spout in order to get it to percolate. The percolator pour spout was releasing to much steam to properly brew my coffee. Almost burnt myself from tipping the coffee from trying to insert the paper towel. Not recommended.It's made of cheap aluminum. The actual percolator tube and basket is easily bent. It's light & packs well, too!
Ok, so as a woman packing well is important to us, but if this coffee pot has a con that would be it. I'll explain, it's very light aluminum, the top is plastic not glass & the guts are a light weight aluminum as well. After brewing one pot of coffee I had coffee grounds brewed into my soft aluminum guts that will not clean out. (side note here, this is a very large pot so it does take a while to brew a pot whether it be over the fire or on the camp stove). Having said all that, this pot is what is & will do a good job on your morning coffee. The outside will scrub up easy enough so it's not so messy to store & with the lower price you're still getting a good deal.
