My favorite Cure album
The case was a bit worn out, but it’s about 35 years old as of this writing, so that’s to be expected (I replaced it with a newer CD case anyway). The CD itself looks almost new and still plays perfectly. It’s my favorite Cure album that helped me get thru a different time in my life back in the day, and it’s one of those albums that I just play all the way thru without skipping any tracks. Excellent Record
This is a phenomenal album. Some of The Cure's work, I feel, has a bare bones, almost incomplete and disjointed feel, and at times the mixes are not the best (just an opinion), but Disintegration is a standout album and every song holds up extraordinarily well. It is their masterpiece and a showcase for sure. If you buy only one album by The Cure, make it this one.

One of my favorite bands from my younger days. This CD is one of their best in my opinion. Dark at times but really good lyrics and music and as always Robert Smith sings like few can, if you've never heard it do so if you like Alternative music. Many have labeled this Goth. I was a Goth, this isn't much of Goth, it is melancholy at times but not true Goth, like other bands. For example Bauhaus. The Cure has done all kinds of songs from sad, to happy dance to adolescent angst. One of my top 100 favorite releases. One of my favorite bands from my younger days. CD The Cure....Disintegration
This is the BEST album The Cure has ever made, both lyrically and instrumentally. Robert Smiths vocals transfix you, the lyrics "speak to you"- he has the uncanny ability to get inside your head and put together YOUR feelings in words.. I have had the immense pleasure of seeing them Live for the first time at age 16 in Toronto, Canada, during "The Wish" tour, and have seen them 4 other times (all Toronto). Every effort is consisitently put into every set- they have never played for less than 2 hours, and then had 2-3 Encore's. Live is just as great as digitally remastered, the instruments and lyrics are always dead on but not lip syched (sp?). Any person who gives "alternative/punk" a chance will discover they are true music icons, one of the last bands ... This is the BEST album The Cure has ever made, both lyrically and instrumentally. Robert Smiths vocals transfix you, the lyrics "speak to you"- he has the uncanny ability to get inside your head and put together YOUR feelings in words.. If you have never heard any Cure songs, for "anger" try "Disintegration", love "Love Song" and sorrow "Pictures of You" or "Plainsong" or "Swimming in the Same Deep Water as You".....I NEVER write reviews, as everyone's personal taste generally dictates their preferences, but for young (I am now still the biggest fan in my eyes, my babies fall asleep listening to "Rock-a-bye"- Renditions of The Cure, instrumental by orchestra (BRILLIANT!) and old alike, I find it almost impossible for anyone NOT to like real instruments and meaningful lyrics.

The Cure
An oldie, but new to me. I purchased four of their cds and will add more to my collection. Robert Smith's vocals are full of emotion ranging from dark and deep to fun and light. A true artist and I now understand why they continue to sell out their concerts. Highly recommend listening.
