About this product

Product Information

Nintendo's popular pink puffball with an unassuming grin and a voracious appetite returns in a new form in Kirby's Epic Yarn. After eating a strange tomato planted by the evil wizard Yin-Yarn, Kirby is transformed into yarn and sucked into a dimension where everything is made of colorful fabric. Kirby quickly befriends Prince Fluff, and the duo agree to head off after Yin-Yarn to foil his malevolent plans. The new dimension has removed Kirby's ability to ingest enemies and absorb their abilities, but the classically styled side-scrolling action still finds him bounding and floating through levels, and the pliable nature of the yarn lets Kirby lasso enemies, throw objects, and swing from grapple points.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is designed to offer two-player co-op action, with the second player taking on the role of Prince Fluff. Both characters can completely transform into a variety of different objects, including a surfing penguin, a destructive brick, and a submarine, and the duo can combine to transform into a massive robot that fires missiles and bats down enemies with a huge boxing glove. Each level contains three secret treasure chests, as well as a large number of colorful beads, and many secret areas can be accessed by unzipping two pieces of cloth, tunneling through fluffy cotton, or yanking a loose thread. Beads earn players higher scores and win medals at the end of the stage, while the treasure chests and medals open up new levels to explore.

The game is good and I appreciate the added stickers. The only real problem was the person who delivered it to my mailbox forgot to say it was delivered, but I won’t count you at fault for it. It was great service overall though.

    Epic Yarn--Epic Game

I bought this as a gift for my grandchildren. They loved it! It is challenging enough to keep them engaged, yet easy enough that they do not get discouraged. The music actually adds to the playing experience and adds a layer of happiness to the playing experience. The bottom line is that my grandkids LOVED it. It's fun, it's pleasing to the eye and ear--and unlike many video games, it's even enjoyable to watch others play.

Feels like a kid's game at times. Still a lot of fun if you have a friend to play with.

This is a great game and had the potential to be better. I loved it but what kills it for me is how easy it is. That along with its simplistic, cutesy art style makes it feel like a kid's game. Would still highly recommend for couch co-op!

  • Adorable little game, perfect for younger gamers and Kirby faithful.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is the tenth installment of the Kirby video game series, and a return to a more traditional platformer game. This game is absolutely adorable. It is Kirby's first venture on to the Wii. Epic Yarn is set in Patch Land, as opposed to Kirby's usual Dream Land location. Patch Land features a "unique knitted design based on animated yarn and a world of cloth and textiles." The game also feature 1 and 2 player modes and simple, easy to learn controls. Some of Kirby's traditional powers, like flight, are not here, since he's made of yarn. But they are new abilities to replace the old ones, such as Kirby can transform into a car for extra speed, or capture enemies and throw them like balls of yarn. It is a beautiful, simple game. This is the game for the younger gamer who are ...

  • Kirby is Pretty Epic

Grab this for under $10 and you've got a bargain. I have never seen my kids so engrossed by a video game. They're 6 and 8 and they've beaten it already and are noe working to unlock secret levels. They play 2 players simultaneously, which works well for them. They even like decorating Kirby's pad, lol. It is a fun game and the control is good. The graphics don't look great at first glance, but if you look close, everything looks like cloth and yarn just like it is supposed to.

  • Fun Game

Kirby's Epic Yarn for the Wii is a fun game. I guess I'll start by saying that. The game has a lot of fun and unique things for you to do since the idea is that it's a whole game made of yarn. For some reason instead of giving the player the choice of different remotes like other games or at least the option to use the nun-chuk this game can only be played using the Wii remote all by itself which means using the control pad (the directional buttons in the shape of a plus sign) as your only form of moving. It is possible that some people don't mind playing this way (or even like it) however I don't enjoy it (It doesn't take long for it to start making your thumbs hurt) and it seems like a mistake to not make an option for people that don't like to play that way. So really I think that the ...
