More of a CREEPY movie than scary! But there are some!
Hmm...this movie is ok, though not the best of Japanese Horror films. I like the title, for to me, it sounds very scary, but the movie isn't that scary. Yes, it does scare me when the suspense becomes too much, but it also annoys me when I feel that it is just prolonging the suspense and I want the events to happen already. It's more creepy than scary, but I do know that I would get scared if I were ever in that kind of situation. I love that the movie starts from end to beginning, meaning that you see what happens last firstly, then you see what the real deal/story is when the movie gets to the end. And you see that the end is actually the beginning of the story, and you understand why the ghosts came for the characters that died. I think it's sad, though, for innocent people had to die, ... Hmm...this movie is ok, though not the best of Japanese Horror films. I like the title, for to me, it sounds very scary, but the movie isn't that scary. For in scenes where they see the ghost or ghostly things, they were pretty--er, not that scared, but just like oh! surprise! They were scared, but just seemed kind of calmed scared. I'm not sure that they would be the kind of characters to act kind of calm in scary situations like that. Like I said, there were many scenes in which I thought that they were just dragging on too long and wish that they would just hurry up. I actually think that the special effects are quite okay, but I don't get the end/beginning of the story. I think this is a very good story, but how did the main girl ghost exist first? Hmm, that's the only mystery in the movie for me. All in all, this movie is great for watching once or even a couple of times. It's passable...~_~ ^o^

Pros + Creepy atmosphere. + Works backwards towards the origin. + A teacher tells a little kid a ghost story. Cons - Unoriginal scares. - Cheesy graphics & acting. - Not the best story. Comments I expected more from Ju-Rei. It has an interesting timeline but an odd curse. The graphics really bring the story down but it is creepy. Everthing feels copied from other movies though so don't expect something new. Verdict Good enough to watch once. I actually decided to purchase the film based on a review from an asian horror website. The film provides some creepy moments and is worth a buy even to have it in your collection.
