When it came to the X-files, 10 years meant a lot of storylines. In the last two seasons a new thread emerged, called "Super soldiers" when collected. This was the time of Scully's baby, when Doggett and the new were in, and when Skully an dMulder finally turned in their badges. A lot of people do not like the things that happen in this and the previous season but it has stuff to offer. It still has a great budget and the people that are alive are still movers and shakers. As a postive or a negative, the storyline that has dominated the series is gone as well and The Syndicate is all but dead. All the snitches are gone as well, Samantha (Mulder's sister) is gone from his mind, and aliens are not the dominant force in the universe. The only thing is that Seasons 7 killed all those that conspired and Season 8 wrapped up the people hanging around. you get a lot here as a fan BUt it is not for everyone. Fans of the old might not feel good with replacement people either, but these are not forced commodities. The main elements left and the new came on to fill out the roster, and some of the stories are nice here. Fans of monsters get a charge from some stuff and new people looking in see less conspiracy dominating the headlines. I personally like it but I am a huge fan. I would say that others should do their homework before jumping in, wanting more.

x-files out with a bang
I bought season nine of the x-files to complete my collection. plain and simple. having fallen in love with the first seven seasons of the show season eight was kinda a downer. the story kind just meandered untill mulder showed back up at the end of season eight. Season nine mulder is gone (cuz david duchovny had found work elswhere) but the story keeps ranting about him. finally about 2/3s of the way through season nine the new agents find their stride and it started to get good. But to no avail the show as still cancled. But the series finally that was a two hour long episode was AWESOME! In my opinion X-files is the best TV show ever created. Season 9 is missing Mulder for quite a bit of it, but it is still a good show.
