However, it can update to iOS 4.2.1, the same as the 2nd Generation iPad if you prefer. This enables it to run many of the apps available on the Apple Store. It can also accept Apple Gift Cards to pay for such items. It is compatible with iTunes, which is built directly into the iPod.
