About this product

Product Information

Cast in the arcade-spirit of Sega's Bass Fishing, Cabela's Monster Bass is an action-oriented fishing game with fast-paced combos and high score bonuses. After selecting a male or female character, players drive a boat across one of six lakes and decide on the perfect fishing spot. Casting the line is accomplished by swinging the Wii Remote, and less patient players can even attract fish by inputting specific commands. Once a fish starts biting, the battle begins. Players must carefully balance reeling in the fish while keeping an eye on the line's tension so it doesn't break.

Reeling in fish is accomplished by moving the Wii Remote in the same directions as onscreen visual cues. Combos can also be used to weaken the fish's resolve, allowing for an easier catch. Tournament Fishing is the game's primary mode, incorporating six authentic lakes: Lake Wylie, Clear Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, Lake Amistad, Logan Martin Lake, and Lake Okeechobee. As players progress, additional rods, lures, and live bait become available to improve the odds of landing the "big one." Other play options include an Open Fishing mode and a Quick Challenge. The former has players fishing on their choice of lakes, while the latter involves racking up high scores in timed events.

This game as a little hard to figure out at first but it didnt take long to catch one. There are things like reel boost where you have to do certain actions to get it and I have yet to get that right. Though you have to be pretty quick to get the boosts and to attract fish. Also I had broke my line many of times because to loosen the tension you must reel out and that is where I also found out my reel was not made to reel out and I broke it. You can unlock different lakes and equipment and there is a variety of fish. The graphics are pretty good. I would buy it again for $20.00. It is an overall good fishing game.

  • Rapala fishing frenzy

This is a fun game and easy to use. It is a challenge to reel the fish in, the fish look real too. It was bought for a nine year old and he and his brother (11) really enjoy playing it when they can't fish for real.

  • Lots of fun

    grandkids love it!

takes too long to reel in. Boat action is realistic. Hard to cast. Takes awhile to get use to the controls but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty fun.
