I ordered the cd Elvis’ Gold Records vol. 5 over three weeks ago and it hasn’t even shipped yet, though you advertise that you ship within 1 day of ordering…I have given you every opportunity to follow through on this, so either ship it within 24 hours or reimburse me the full price…I always give 5 stars on all my orders…I will do the same for you only when I receive my order…Thank you for your prompt attention on this…

Arrived in good condition, as described, amazing considering the age of the book. Lots of sellers want to demand insane prices for a nice old classic like this, which I think is unreasonable! But this one was reasonably priced, and a great buy. Worth the money man, thanks!

New old stock still performs great

Works great so far - had it about 2 months. This was "new old stock." The player was made over twelve years ago! All that sitting around seems to have be OK on the components. The up-resing is awesome, the picture looks great ! Has made my X-Files DVDs look extra good ! Was a super bargain too.

Only Okay, at best... not very durable or long lasting.

Works okay, not great. When new works fine. Plays most DVDs and Blurays. As unit gets old, have problems loading discs & sound & reading data from discs. Not very durable. Lasts about a year or so from new. Bought several used from EBay.. most lasted less than 6 months of lite usage.

  • good upscaling player for the money

The Philips DVP 5990 is small and sleek, doesn't take up much room, pleasing to the eye. Picture from standard def 480 to hi def 1080 is very good. Like all Philips machines, disks are a bit slow loading, and it's fast forward and rewind functions could be a bit better. This machine will play DivX movie discs and includes a USB port for viewing .avi files, a nice feature. The remote is also slim and sleek, responds well to commands however the buttons are a bit on the flimsy side. There are features I haven't tried as of yet, such as being able to create MP3's I guess from music CDs. The back of the unit contains the standard Video, Component and HDMI outputs. Everything works as it should..... I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

  • Good buy for the money

Overall this unit is good value and what I like most about it is the HDTV availibility. I can't give 5-star rating for one reason. It does not response quickly on command and it takes longer time to change different actions from remote control. I bought this model with region free capability which means that I could watch any kind of dvds available out there in the world. It also works great with vcds from different countries. The other feature that I like best is it's small size and light weight but it delivers a big performance. Set-up is very quick and simple. Connection is a snap and start-up is a breeze.

  • I am not satified w/prdct, it does't resolved my DL media play back issues

Before I purchase this model i carefully reasearch a dvd player that will play back all recored media,I have add a 3rd player that do not play DVD DL+/- and some time wont play the DvD 4.7, after reading reviews, my conclusion is that maybe some of the views are tainted. I searching for a DVD player that will play all type of media, especially (Double Layer ,8.5 Gb)DL+/)). All my DVD-DL recored come back with a Disk is Dirty message on the screen. I clean the lazor eye /no print or smugges on the recorded DL. If I compress the same movie on 4.7 DVD +/-, it plays just fine, even with smugges. The reviews had me convince the Phillip DVP5990 will play ever media type there is, Some player will specify types, but what I found if it not written in the specs, it probably may or will not" play ...
