About this product

Product Information

The EBS Multicomp Compressor Guitar Effect Pedal enhances your sound with ease. This high-performance device allows players to customize their music during a live show as well as in the studio. The multiple available settings give players the freedom to change their style and explore new musical avenues. If you're searching for a dual-band compressor that offers tight control as well as excellent quality, this device is a smart solution. One of the many advantages of this compression device is how easy it is to use. Optimized for use with guitars and with only a few controls, any player is up and running in no time. This unit has an Active/Passive switch, which is contingent on whether the player has the device connected to an effects loop, or whether it is connected to an active instrument. There is also the Comp/Limit button, which determines the compression ratio, and the Gain button, which affects the compressor's output. The Threshold button, located under the hood, acts as an internal trim pot to help avoid any unwanted feedback. The well-planned design of the EBS Multicomp Compressor Pedal ensures that guitarists have no difficulty improving their sound with this endlessly versatile device. To get more out of this EBS device, players experiment with the three available compression modes: Tubesim, which is used to add harmonics and warmth to music, the Normal setting, which offers standard one-band compression, and Multi-band, which allows the treble compressors and the bass to work separately. By experimenting with the Comp/Limit, Gain, and Mode functions, players discover a world of interesting audio effects. The sonic possibilities range from percussive funk to swelling guitar chords, and this array of sounds is sure to appeal to musicians with a love of the eclectic. These EBS devices have a number of impressive specs that make them great choices for players looking for quality compressors. The input impedance is 700 k Ohms, and the gain range goes from 0 to 16 dB. There is the attack time of less than 7 ms as well as the release time of type 70 ms. This pedal also provides players with true bypass switching. These specs contribute to the vast sonic possibilities of this EBS line of pedals. This EBS guitar effect pedal comes with a DC power adapter, and the Multicomp pedal ideally handles 9-12 V DC. For guitarists looking for the type of accessories that are compatible with the device, this pedal runs on a 9V alkaline battery if you want to use the pedal for live performances without having any extra wires on stage. Bass guitars are also usable with this piece of gear. The EBS Multicomp is part of the brand's new Red Label collection. The products found in this collection draw inspiration from the brand's famous Black Label Pedals for bass. For professionals looking to amplify their sound and players new to the world of compressors, the EBS Multicomp Compressor makes a great choice.

Was skeptical, I don't normally use any pedals while playing Bass. Our drummer suggested a compressor to even out the spikes when I play aggressive. This pedal works! I have it on all the time now. Very happy with it.

  • Unrivalled stompbox compressor, hefty price-tag but mostly worth it!

Bought this for the multi-band mode as I have been unhappy with all other compression I have used on bass. All three modes are very good, my favourite would be tubesim mode for getting a really round B-15 style tone and MB mode for tighter playing and slap. I wish the pedal had an attack or blend knob as even the MB mode can get quite squashy on the front when you dig in, would be nice to be able to preserve the transient a bit. Seems kinda weird that the gain is post compression (make-up gain) with no option to add gain at the front to get the same compressor response from louder and softer basses. This is far and away the best stompbox compressor I have ever heard for bass.

  • Excellent piece of gear!

Does wonders for your bass sound. Focusses and gives great depth. The Swedes at EBS are very helpful as well. (Note: be sure to use their ac adapter.) For a great tube sound, also check out their Valve Drive. Tack så mycket, EBS!

  • The best comp pedal period

Simply the best compressor pedal I’ve ever used. It comes at a hefty price tag but totally worth every penny. Very clear, focused and warm sounding pedal. Other compressor pedals out there will color your tone and squash your signal. This pedal just simply make your instrument sound better than ever! Just do it, buy it now!

  • Great pedal... simple and effective

I'd used a Boss M50B for a few years, and it had the potential to everything one could ask... but in reality I simply used the compressor function and as a tuner. I also play keyboard and guitar, and real estate on my pedal board is at a premium. So I got this and a Peterson tuner, and I have to say the compresspr has exceeded my expectations. The tube setting provides a really warm sound, and the compression is better than the Boss. All in all I sound better, and have reduced the footprint of my gear in the process. Yes, I'd buy it again. Quality seems top notch. Value... its expensive for a single stomp box, but worth every penny.
