    Better over time

    This program is regularly run on History International, usually in two parts. It is an excellent synopsis of the Romanov dynasty, and good overview of Russian history in general. Thankfully, it does not dignify the Catherine the Great equine rumor by debunking it. It does give a sense of how individuals, in the person of the Tsar(ina,)are responsible for pivotal moments in Russian history. If being able to watch a history program repeatedly is a testimony, you should buy this.

    Russia Land of the Tsars

    This is a DVD set you must have!!! I have spent numerous periods in Russia over the past 15 years, and its content fills in many gaps in Russian culture and history. I have watched it 10+ times and continually learn from it. It is informative and stirring...don't shortchange yourself by not viewing/buying it !!!

    Not very good at all

    Inconsistent pronunciation and intentionally sensational and unbelievably bad pronunciation. I threw my money away in buying it. Poor.

    Russia Land of the Tsars (2003 DVD)

    Originally saw this program on tv. Absolutely fabulous! Very rich in the history and expanasion of Russia. Anyone who has a general interest in history or a more specific interest in Russion history this DVD is a must. From Ivan the Terrible...to Peter the Great...to Catherine the Great...and Rasputin...the DVD encompasses nearly a thousand years of despair and rebellion, innovation and conflict.
