Product Information

Jarod (Michael T. Weiss) is a young man with a special talent: he has the power to become anything he wants at any time, be it a doctor, sailor, musician, or scientist. Jarod was abducted when he was but a mere child genius by a mysterious organization known only as the Centre, and his talents were carefully honed, transforming him into the veritable shape-shifter he is today. But when Jarod learns that the simulations he created for the Centre are not used for good alone, but sold to the highest bidder for purposes benign or otherwise, he runs away, and sets out to find his long-lost family. Loath to lose such a heavy investment, the Centre dispatches Sydney (Patrick Bauchau, SECRETARY)--who had served as Jarod's father figure and knew him better than anyone--to bring him back. Sydney is aided by Miss Parker (Andrea Parker, LESS THAN PERFECT), the serious-minded daughter of the Center's head honcho, and Broots (Jon Gries, NORTHFORK), a high-strung computer genius. Each episode takes place in a different town, as Jarod tries to right the wrongs he encounters by using his special abilities, while evading his pursuers who are ever close behind. This collection includes all the episodes from the fourth and final season.

    A very exciting dvd series. I highly recommend!

    I have had the complete set of the PRETENDER for years. Every few years I watch them. It is a really great series. I had bought the set for my brother because he loved it, too. Then, I loaned by set to my grandson, and he is really "in to it", too, so I bought the entire set for him also. I bet I get my whole family hooked on PRETENDER soon!

    Classic Timeless Series

    Classic Timeless Series but is way overpriced due to an ongoing lack of current production, distribution and availability of new copies. My biggest.complaint is the pathetic use of Double Sided DVD's which are nearly impossible to safely handle and use. I have had so many problems with them and had to buy two extra sets to finally get one of the seasons to work properly. The costs of one sided DVD's, compared to using double sided disc's, is insignificant. Trying to juggle these fragile discs is beyond the limits of frustration! Great series but this is a truly horrible media format being used to market a high demand classic series.

    Pretender Series

    Pretender is one of my Favorite series. I missed many of the original and rerun shows due to work schedule. I'm excited to finally complete my set with the purchase of Season 4 so I can enjoy my retirement with a Pretender Marathon any time I wish. ;-) I was disappointed with the final show of Season Four because I felt it left too many questions unanswered. It's as if there really wasn't an "ending" to any of the plots. Interviews with the writing staff at the end of Season Four Set explains what really happened. They purposely created such a strong cliff hanger for end of season ..but.. surprise was on them when network didn't pick up the show for another season ....... however ......... There is a double movie set available that hopefully answers many of our questions: PRETENDER 2001 ...

    He can become anyone, he is a Pretender!

    This is the best T.V. Show I had ever seen, a great story and great actors. I will never get tired of this show. This show makes you think and can also relate to real life issues and drama. With so many twists and turns, you'll find the main character, Jarod, becoming anything or anyone to put bad people behind bars by making them feel the same fear they have inflicted on their victims. Jarod has been a Doctor, Teacher, Professor, Caost Gaurd, High Ranking Military personnel, and even a news reporter. I only wished that they could have done at least one more season, but they followed up with two movies, which I plan on owning soon. If you never seen this show, I highly recommend it, you will like it.

    The Pretender......Almost an Ending

    For fans, this is the most in depth Pretender Season of all. Jarod is clearly the focus using his abilities to help his "comrades" learn about their secrets and issues hidden from them. A much more satisfying view than Season 3; richer in context, plot development and story lines. The only low point is the ritual Cliffhanger Season Finale where Miss Parker and Jarods recently discovered Half-Brother is on a train headed for disaster. Without revealing the ending; we are all left adrift at the abrupt end. Since a Season 5 was expected, there are many clues and unanswered questions hanging in the air - WIll Miss Parker and Jarod finally blaze their barbed relationship? Will Cloe and Jarod steal away and finally establish his own family? Will Jarod use his incredible talents and bring ...
