About this product

Product Information

Two of the most dominant forces of 20th century American culture have combined in Monopoly Star Wars. As the name would imply, this CD-ROM combines the classic board game with the equally classic movie series.

Gameplay is exactly the same as any other Monopoly game. The object of the game is to buy as much property as possible, eventually causing your opponents go bankrupt. Besides the same object and rules (all of which are by-the-book but adjustable -- no cheating, though!), Monopoly Star Wars has a different look to it than the board game. For example, instead of the car, the cowboy or the thimble, play as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader or Boba Fett. Instead of houses and hotels, buy ships and starports. The property names have also been changed to fit the Star Wars motif (e.g., the Imperial capitol Coruscant is the most expensive property, while Yoda's home planet of Dagobah is the slums). As soon as you've bankrupted your opponents, the galaxy is yours.

  • Must have for Star Wars fans!

We purchased this game to play with our boys. We have enjoyed this little game very much. Though it is a pretty old game - it is fun. You can customize the rules and time limits which makes playing it even more fun. It has sound effects and animated players pieces. Don't expect the graphics you see today - but still a great game to have.

  • Star Wars has no monopoly on excitement

This game is so boring! C3PO narrates everything and I have yet to meet someone who doesn't find him annoying. Gameplay is super slow. I have sped everything up by disabling animations, property videos, etc and still slow and boring. This game has a network play capability but nobody seems to play this online anymore. That's too bad because that might be the only thing that could have made this game playable. The original Monopoly and Monopoly Here and now are much better.

  • Great vintage game

Obviously, this game is not the quality of today's games in terms of graphics and complexity, but it still delivers just as it did when it cam l came out. Great monopoly experience, joined with classic scans and dialog from the original Star Wars franchise..

  • Star Wars Monopoly

The interface could be better. Wish you could turn off the animations. Overall, the game is sound and plays well. The only thing is that if you are 1 away from a monopoly, no one will trade with you for your remaining property. Oh well. I give it a B+.
