GENUINE HP Toner cartridges are the way to go !
Non-HP laser ink has given me fits with smears and shady lines appearing on the paper printed. The downtime & repair bills REVERSED the lower cost of the "generic" ink cartridges. It's great that my 12 year old laser printer purchased in 2009 still performs like new, year after year when I use GENUINE HP Toner cartridges. I was delighted to find GENUINE HP Toner in the original unopened box on eBay for about HALF the price. I have never seen a "wet" laser toner printed document. (I have seen ink jet printers produce "wet" documents that will smear.) Unopened GENUINE HP Toner that I have stored at room temperature for years has always worked perfectly printing reams of copies until the printer finally messages that the toner cartridge is empty. Since these cartridges were not in the OEM box, I can't be absolutely sure the cartridges are factory new but the printer accepted them and they seem to provide the same results as the factory versions.
