About this product

Product Information

The exemplar of Indo-Persian history, at once a biography of Emperor Akbar and a chronicle of sixteenth-century Mughal India. Akbarnama , or The History of Akbar , by Abu'l-Fazl (d. 1602), is one of the most important works of Indo-Persian history and a touchstone of prose artistry. Marking a high point in a long, rich tradition of Persian historical writing, it served as a model for historians throughout the Persianate world. The work is at once a biography of the Mughal emperor Akbar (r. 1556-1605) that includes descriptions of his political and martial feats and cultural achievements, and a chronicle of sixteenth-century India. The first volume details the birth of Akbar, his illustrious genealogy, and in particular the lives and exploits of his grandfather, Babur, and his father, Humayun, who laid the foundations of the Mughal Empire. The Persian text, presented in the Naskh script, is based on a careful reassessment of the primary sources.

Between confusing my tracking information for another order (making me think my package had been delivered states away), my book having completely different cover art than the image used in the eBay listing, my book not being packed well and suffering some damage, as well as the other shady behavior listed in other reviews (like my book coming from Amazon and the seller immediately jacking up the price of the original listing after my purchase), I'd say this is a shady seller to entirely avoid.

Book was as described. Charged a lot for shipping and never gave any tracking information. Also, this book was sold to me before they had it in hand apparently. A packing slip for Amazon was found with a cheaper price and later date than when I bought the book.

This seller sent the wrong item by accident so as a good seller DID make a 100% full refund due to the fact that UPS wanted $28.00 to just pick up this Item to return it.. and the Item only cost $16.98 To purchase it. The seller DID THE RIGHT THING FOR THE BUYER..ME... and I thank and commend this seller. 5 star seller
