YuGiOh Gets Turbo Charged So Get Your Game On
YuGiOh is a popular Anime where people play a card-game with the intention of drawing the enemies Life Points, (LP), down from 8000 to 0 by placing various creatures, spell cards and trap cards on the field. When a creature attacks, it will either fight off against another creature, with the strongest being the victor, and the excess damage being done to the opponents LP, (if the other creature is in Defence mode, most of the time the excess damage is negated, though there are exceptions, cards such as Exarion Universe can ignore this rule in some cases). The spell cards and trap cards can aid you or hinder you opponent by making your creatures stronger, their creatures weaker, giving you more LP, or destroying certain cards on the field. Onto the game itself, YuGiOh Spirit Caller is like ... Onto the game itself, YuGiOh Spirit Caller is like YuGiOh Nightmare Troubadour that's been fitted with a V8 engine, Nitrous boosters, and even one of those glowing blue lights on the underside. There are now more cards featured in the game, (over 1,400), and of course you get 3 Limited Edition cards if you buy the game new, (these may vary depending on region), as well as newer cards, the rules and card-list limits have been updated to the end of 2006 rules. Also, there is now a WFC mode to duel against people from all over the world or friends, (local play is also supported), it should be noted however that you can't trade cards over the WFC, only locally, and you have to trade on a card-for-card basis). You can also receive cards from the Nightmare Troubadour game by connecting with another DS system with Nightmare Troubadour, selecting the card you want, and then paying some Duel Points, which are earned for winning duels in-game. Keep in mind however that the card WON'T disappear from Nightmare Troubadour, and at the same time, you can't trade cards to Nightmare Troubadour from Spirit Caller, (this would have been a welcome feature, to at least trade the cards that exist in both games). Regretably, the game does have some translation problems, with some of the words in "Engrish", such as "It's time to go dorm" at the end of the day, and as with Nightmare Troubadour, some of the card effects and stats are mixed up, but overall, these are very few and far between, and don't take anything away from the game. There are now 5 areas to explore, compated to Nightmare Troubadour's 2, and the game follows the GX storyline pretty accuratly, though you take the place of the protagonist instead of Jaden Yuku, (who is in the game, and you duel with on several occasions). As implied, with Spirit Caller, during the game you gain spirts, (such as Jaden Yuki's Kuriboh), and these spirits help you in various ways, such as with Jerry Bean's Man, (possibly another "Engrish" typo), who increases your chances of getting a free card from an in-game friend you've duelled. The game uses the same engine as Nightmare Troubadour, so the sound and graphics are identical, and the method of play is exactly the same, touching cards to place them and activate them. The only difference which is noticable is the battle-status tab is on the left of the screen, rather than the top; which some people will like, some people will hate, and most people won't care about as it doesn't take up much screen space or anything, and doesn't get in the way. If you're a fan of YuGiOh, this game is highly recommended, and if you want to see what all the fuss is about, this game has tons of content to keep you going for months.

Great game for Yu-Gi-Oh fans
My son read the description and decided to spend his hard earned money on this game. The game is just as described. Sometimes games are all hype and when you get them they are too easy or so complicated they are not fun. My son is a big fan of Yu-Gi-Oh and has not been disappointed with this game.

He has lots of games, but has been wanting this one for a while. He's been checking the mailbox since the day I paid for it, and it arrived yesterday. Since he thanks me every so often, I think the game is a good purchase.
