    Make sure there's clearance

    Just remember the base must be free to rotate roughly 15 degrees to release the mechanism that allows the upper portion to rotate to desired position within 10 degrees. On my boat the mounting area for this mount had an interference issue with an in-deck pole holder that was about 1/4" above the gunnel. I had to make an extra trip to hardware sore for some 1/4"x20 fender washers to add a spacers beneath the swivel mount. All is good now and it rotates as it should.

    Great swivel

    Got this type of swivel by mistake on my first DR. Now that I’ve used it for a while, I’ll not go back to the low profile. These are much better quality.

    Not a fan of the design

    The unit does not rotate smoothly. The mechanism is very stiff. To rotate the unit, you first turn the bottom piece which then allows the top part to turn. I'm not a fan of the design. Very clumsy.
