  • Gosh Darn What a Disappointment!

First off, I am a HUGE fan of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books. I was practically salivating when I got my hands on this latest in the series. It was full of action, Jack is as always the complete answer guy who knows everything, can anticipate anything, and can figure out everything. Sort of like a cross between McGyver & James Bond. For me, this book had the following weaknesses that were distracting from the main story. One, I just didn't buy the Jack Reacher, ex MP, condoning desertion. Nope, didn't convince me. Second, I read fiction for entertainment not to get preached to about someone's political vision. The whole anti-Iraq war spiel coming out of Jack Reacher's character just didn't fit and I found it enormously distracting. Third, the villain, Mr. Thurmond, was so cliched that I ...

  • Excellent Writer

Bought this for my boyfriend. He read this book in a few days. Looks like he loved it. Did get any complaints. LOL!

  • Fast Paced, Great action. Good story.

The book started fast and ended fast. There were more twists that a salted pretzel. The sex was moderate but required, I don't see how an author can write a great book like this. Wonderful. I will not stop until I have read all of the novels.

  • A very good read.

Lee Child is a great writer and I enjoy the Jack Reacher books.

  • Nothing to Lose by Lee Child (2008)

I've believe I have read all of the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child.. this was far from my favorite.. there was action and suspense, but it was not up to the usual intensity. It also made Reacher just a little bit too careless and the enemy a little weak, which is not typical of Child or Reacher. I stayed with it, but if a Patterson had come along in between, I would have read that first.
