Metalocalypse is BRUTAL!
I'm what you could call a "metal head". I listen to all kinds of metal genres. When I discovered there was a cartoon on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network) called "Metalocalypse" I was intrigued. I watched the first episode, and was hooked ever since! The show is pretty much about a metal band called "Dethklok" and their rise to untold fame. A secret organization of the world's most influential gather to discuss how Dethklok is destroying the world and what they can do to stop the band. Dethklok is practically unaware of this and just play their music. The band is not very intelligent, and that adds to the humor. They have their own personalities that compliment eachother. Their goal: be the most brutal, darkest, and most metal band to ever ... I'm what you could call a "metal head". I listen to all kinds of metal genres. I LOVE Metalocalypse !
For a certain type of person Metalocalypse is the ultimate form of entertainment. If you grew up on Scooby Doo and Hair Bands, if your adolescent involved a period of "darkness", if everyone you hung out with in your early 20s was in a band then you should give it try. More specifically if your sense of humor is absurd and irrevant OR if you enjoyed early Adult Swim cartoons / animated series like Home Movies or SeaLab 2020 then there is NO way you won't like Metalocalypse. Even if you think you don't like Metal. Which, by the way, I was never a fan of (except in an ironic sense) but I find I really enjoy the musical component of this show. Warning: If you are one of those odd people (who I am assuming and hope are rare) that are freaked out by animated violence and ... For a certain type of person Metalocalypse is the ultimate form of entertainment. Dethklok - The biggest band in the world!
A heavy metal cartoon...Who'd have thunk it? This is genius. If you love metal, you'll love this. It's heavy, gory, brutal, and very funny. Brilliant characters, with the creators and original Luke Skywalker doing voices along with the likes of James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, and King Diamond. The metalocalypse has begun.... Season 2 is just as good, if not better. With Malcolm McDowell, Devin Townsend, Angela Gossow, Michael Amott and many more adding their vocal talents, it's not to be missed. Long may Dethklok continue...A heavy metal cartoon...Who'd have thunk it? This is genius. If you love metal, you'll love this. It's heavy, gory, brutal, and very funny. Very good show especially if your a metal head. Even if you don't like Metal I reccomend this movie cause there is lots of killing burtality, booz, drug abuse, and of course The world famous band "Dethklok"'s album songs are played throughout almost all the episodes. The show is also very funny. Basically, the show is about the lives and career of the Death Metal band Dethklok. You see them perform (a lot!), drink booz, do drugs, go on crazy adventures, record their songs in the weirdest and awesomest ways ever thought of, and you get to see as everyone around them die.This is not a documentary or anything, it is an animated t.v. show from Adult Swim and is definately worth buying.Very good show especially if your a metal head. I really like ie because it shows even misfits can destroy the world completely by mistake. It follows the matal band Dethklok as they tour, write songs, and cause general disaster, all while being followed by the "Tribunial". What I liked was the easter eggs(Very easy to find) and just the show in general. What I really didn't like was the fact that it was censored. The Boondocks, also released by Adult Swim, wasn't.
