    Wonderful Camera

    I recently received this camera and it is in excellent condition, some brassing on the on the battery cover but the rest of the camera is nearly faultless. All controls work as they should as well as the electronics. I've been wanting to get back into film photography for quite awhile and I had to do a lot of research on 35 mm film cameras and to get this particular one at such a reasonable price makes me absolutely thrilled with this purchase.

    The camera has problems with shutter blades

    When I shoot A mode, some of the pictures have half dark at high speed (1/1000s). This happens to 5-7 frames out of 24 shots. Now I can not use this camera.

    My dream camera!

    Always wanted to purchase that special camera and thanks to the digital age, I saw and took the opportunity to purchase it! The Contax Rx is in my opinion the best camera Contax ever build. It is a fully manual camera but with a twist, It has a focus indicator! Contax camera's use Zeiss lenses and with the fact that Zeiss did not want to produce AF lenses, the engineer we're stuck. They first tried solving their dilemma with the Ax. The Ax camera focusing was made by moving the film plate! Pretty genius thing to do but in practice, it was slow to react. Then came the Rx with the focus indicator, then the RxII but without the focus indicator (most likely due to the short supply of the parts) Contax then closed their door. Now the RX body is kinda build like a tank, it inspire confidence ...

    Best 35mm SLR

    Solid camera. Controls fall to hand easily and quickly. Numerous "modes" enhancing photographic capability. With its Digital Focus Indicator, it is light years better than traditional manual focus cameras and allows more control than auto focus cameras. Camera excepts Zeiss lenses as well as Yashica ML's which are very good glass and 1/4 the cost of Zeiss. For anyone wishing to shoot 35mm in this day and age of digital, nothing beats the RX, not Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Minolta, etc, etc. While I have two digital SLRs, I still have my two RX's. But then what do I know. I still have land line telephones . . . . . .

    Contax RX? Simply Superb - I want you to show me what love is ...

    This is the most qualitative film slr camera ever. A wonderful piece of machinery and with its Japano-German origin an all time absolute perfection is within reach. A superb camera where there is easier to tell only the minor disadvantages - and this is partly its size and that was it, there is nothing more to mention. The size and weight itself are even not too much it is simple the only thing I am missing to have my own dream camera (The RX is significantly smaller than the Nikon F4, the Contax AX and partly even than the Leica R9). The Contax RX is not meant to be the highest level of a professional film camera on purpose, so it does not have some features such cameras have, but that is not a disadvantage because it is not meant to have it. If I would dream of a film camera, which ...
