Amazingly distrubing.
This is one of the best horror movies to come out in a long time. Along with a few others such as The Descent, Funny Games is excellently acted, with great direction and incredibly intense scenes. Naomi Watt's is usually amazing and this is no exception, in my opinion it's her best performance to date. There are parts of this movie that are difficult to watch, and it is fairly brutal. You'll be thinking about Funny Games long after the credits role. With none of the gore taking place on screen, if you have a short attention span or are lacking in intelligence, then I wouldn't recommend this movie, it's more for people who want to get more then just mindless entertainment out of their movie watching experience. The review of "worst movie ever" by momsheart88 is completely ridiculous, ... This is one of the best horror movies to come out in a long time. Worst Movie Ever.....
Besides for being horribly acted, the movie is just plain horrible. This movie is rated R why? There are few, near no thrills, no blood, there is a scene in the movie where the movie scene is just showing the house for about 3 minutes. I had to fight the urge to sleep while watching this movie. Everything is badly acted, and drawn apart, the movie is just senseless. I woulden't watch again if I were being paid to do so. I always try to find some positive in a movie, but I just can't seem to find one in this one. The only "Funny Game" game being played here is the one on the viewer for having to pay to see a 2 hour flpp that my dog could of written better. The bottom line...don't buy, don't rent, don't waste your time. I could go on for the entire lengh of the movie, in depth of why this ... Smart psychological thrill
Normally I would never have seen this film, as I have vowed never to see any type of slasher/torture-porn. However after reading about the director's vision of trying to show the audience how sickening the watching of graphic torture for entertainment really is, I knew I had to see it. Unlike the hypocritical Untraceable or The Condemned, this film does exactly what it intends to do. This film gets in your head by giving the pretense that you will witness all the horrible acts, and then turns around on you by not showing anything! Everything is off-screen so you are left with only the sound effects. It is more disturbing as your imagination sets to work on the images off screen, and that in itself is more horrifying. Haneke crafts a superbly smart psychological thrill, but almost too ... Normally I would never have seen this film, as I have vowed never to see any type of slasher/torture-porn. With that aside, I greatly welcomed the dissection of violence, and someone who understands the point of the film and enjoys art house-style film-making will appreciate it.

Funny Games
This is a movie that was purchased for a birthday gift. I have seen this movie previously. The acting was great. It was full of suspence. It had great shock factor. At times, the movie was a little slow and some content could have been edited to keep the speed up. I would suggest to friends to see it.

I had seen this film on cable TV and was shocked by it and decided to purchase it so I could watch it again and also to own it. Of course, as always, I immediately put the title of the movie in the EBay search engine and of course there were several copies in various different versions, ages, etc. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys heart pounding very suspenseful movies. Not for kids, AT ALL. Naturally, it was a seamless purchase, everything was as smooth as silk. Anyone looking for something like a DVD, should find it through eBay instead of a 'Amazon' or the like as it is so much easier, less expensive as shipping costs are either not charged or very low in contrast to larger company's and you aren't placing the order on a huge company's website which can be daunting at ...
