    The works featured on this DVD are Concertoes that Artur Rubinstein performed throughout his life and career. They are the Saint Saens Concerto #2, the Chopin Concerto #2, and the Grieg Concerto in A minor. Rubinstein was 88 years old when these recordings were made. His photographic memory still intact, as well as impeccable musicianship, but the more difficult passages may tend to sound a bit labored.If you have heard the brilliant virtuosity of Collard or Pascal Roge on the Saint Saens Concertoes, or if you have heard Krystan Zimerman and Giulini play the Chopin second Concerto (Los Angeles Times critic Albert Goldberg said of this performance; "That is the way Josef Hofmann must have played when he was a young man") or if you have heard Richter play the Grieg, with the double ...
