More comedic than anything
I bought this and the third one at the same time cause I own the first one, and first off, the first "Revenge" is and always will be a cult classic. Now, the Second installment was just hilarious!! They definitely took lines (as well as some of the original cast) from the first installment, which was funny how they did....only spoiler I'll state is haha really?! The dead drive, smoke cigars, and crank 80s rock now?!? Lol!! They made up for this by making the Third installment more "serious". But I do highly recommend the Trilogy. Just cause the series got outta hand with like 5 or 6 movies. This movie is really a rehash of the first one, where the first is a cult classic this one is ok. That's the best I can describe it. It's a good zombie movie but at the same time it changes how the rules of the first one. Brings back 3 of the actors from the first movie only to play different characters tho the same fate happens to them. This to me also is lazy cause they try to do a tongue in cheek joke by saying "didn't this happen before? It's like a bad dream" ha ha? Creepshowesque tongue in cheek horror...
This movie is entertaining for kids and adults alike. The 90's "Valley Girl" type girlfriend and good "dead" special effects(love the severed hand that shoots a bird!)and comedy jabs do keep pace with the noxious top secret military gas leak plot that brings the dead back to life seeking a meal of human brains...yummy! The zombie that was shot in half yet still walks around was memorable and the quick nod to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" near the end was a pleasant surprise for those of us jaded by bloody cookie cutter zombie movies. Dim the lights,butter the popcorn and enjoy this film with your family. I loved it! ;)This movie is entertaining for kids and adults alike.
