Brilliant album - now for the high quality...
Ive had this album for about 2 years now. My drum teacher let me rip it to my computer and from it ive learnt alot. Since then, my focus has turned to high end hifi and, having procured a job with the world famous subwoofer manufacturer MJ Acoustics, i've turned into a serious audiophile. As a result, ive started replacing all my mp3 rips with the real thing - CD. As an album, musically, this is fantastic. Some of the greatest musicians in the world coming together on one stage to play and cover some of the best known jazz, fusion and funk tracks out there. Quality wise, sure there are one or two rough patches, but you cannot expect the same level of high quality from a live album as you can from a studio album. To a general music lover - this may not be for you if youre not big on a lot of improvisation, but on the other hand this may be the missing album from your desert island discs list.

If you are a fan of world class musicianship you will love this cd. The Dave Weckl band is superb. On this recording the band plays a wide variety of tunes both fast and slow. The versatility of this band is amazing. With all due respect to Pattituci, Weckl grew up with Tom Kennedy in St. Louis and they have over 30 years playing time together, Weckl is at his best with Kennedy. Each member of this band is scary good. For this style of music, is there any band as good? Probably. For this style of music is there any band better? NO WAY! This is a great live cd!!!If you are a fan of world class musicianship you will love this cd. The Dave Weckl band is superb.
