    Sorry it took awhile to send feedback - I ordered a used copy of this disc and got the C1300 message "disc is dirty" from the player. Your order came and the same thing happened. Then I ordered a brand new copy from Wal-Mart, opened it and put it in the player and got the same message again. 3 times I got same message! Finally, the disc I got from you was put it in another DVD player and it played fine, which means something is wrong with my other player. Anyway, thanks for A+++ service

    Interesting Program

    Several friends had told me Call the Midwife was even better than Downton Abbey, so I decided to order the DVDs to see for myself. It's difficult to say which series is the better, but Call the Midwife is certainly entertaining--so much so that I have ordered seasons 3 and 4 in addition to 1 and 2.

    Disc number 1 kept stopping and hesitating during Episode #1.. During Episode #2; in spite of number tries, the Disc simply would not work; no matter how many times I tried to fast forward it or reverse it. A great disappointment

    Awesome series. A great value for the price!

    I have loved this series since I first saw it on PBS and am so happy to be able to add this to my DVD collection. This series is about the role that midwives played in the poorest section of London, helping to save mothers and babies in the direst of circumstances. They showed compassion and love to women who were without the barest necessities of life. You will loves the various personalities of the midwives and the role their personal lives play in the story as well. This is an exciting portrayal of compassion not only to the mothers and babies, but the care of the elderly and neglected. I would highly recommend this series to anyone that loves the British view of life that includes drama along with a sense of humor regarding the characters that make up this wonderful series.

    Deserves 6 stars. Actually a historical documentary.

    This series is based upon a diary of someone who not only lived this experience but also was quite adept at documenting, in writing, what was actually occurring at the time. Remember, when watching this series, these events were occurring during the mid to late fifties in a country that was culturally similar to ours at the time, yet was recovering from a war that physically and economically devastated their country. It also took place in an area of the city of London that was extremely destitute, without many resources or hope. Watch it, learn from it, and let God speak to your heart regarding how you can serve others that are less fortunate. You have it much better than you realize! May God grant you the wisdom to understand one's purpose in life and then the belief to live it.

    like family

    The characters in this series are endearing. They are like family in the series and I feel like one of the family. I do like BBC programs, but this is, by far, one of my favorites. It makes me laugh and cry. Each episode is it's own story, but the the story of the "family" is on going.
