Sulle teste vi erano sette diademi; la sua coda si trascinava dietro la terza parte degli astri del cielo e li precipitava sulla terra. Il dragone si pose di fronte alla donna che era sul punto di partorire, per divorare il bimbo non appena fosse nato. Essa quindi diede alla luce un figlio, un maschio, quello che era destinato a governare tutte le nazioni con verga di ferro. Subito fu rapito il figlio di lei verso DIO, verso il trono di lui; mentre la donna riparò nel deserto, dove ha un luogo preparato da DIO per esservi nutrita per lo spazio di milleduecentosessanta giorni.
