    Old school hobby

    As a teenager, all I did was race HO scale cars. Years have passed and my interest regained steam. Being semi retired with time to spare, I brought a track and cars which lit the fire of my youth again. Only difference is price. In my day, cars were between .66 and $2.99! Other than that, the love hasn't changed.

    Fits older Thunderjet bodies (with some adjustments)

    While this chassis allowed me to mount a custom made slot car body I bought that was only available for old school Thunderjet chassis, this generation of car is a bit disappointing after driving newer technology, MUCH faster and better handling cars. I wish someone made adapters to fit Thunderjet bodies onto modern AFX Mega G+ chassis. Very uninspiring wheels and tires. They may fit your needs, but they are just not my style. I paid more for this one than for a 1.5" AFX Mega G+ chassis. In fact, I paid the same amount for this chassis alone as I bought another brand new Thunderjet chassis with a body on it. Won't make that mistake again.

    AW chassis are good fit shelf replacements for T-Jets

    All of the AW chassis are subject to erratic quality issues. Sloppily drilled axle holes is the hardest to fix. Axles are so much smaller than the holes, they move front to back in the hole and try to 'steer' the car. Priced at 1/2 to 1/3 of the market price for Aurora Thunderjets, an AW chassis can "free up" a Tjet shelf car chassis, that can be used on your track. AW fit under an Aurora is usually very good...other than tires and wheels. I often trim the axles and mount original worn Aurora wheels or on bodies allowing it, Vincent or RRR wheels with lettered or striped tires for a great display car. For performance, they often require a lot of work to get them up to stock T-jet performance level.

    Auto World Ultra G chassis

    These chassis’s are fast and they stick to the track. However the contact points leading to the commutator brushes seems to be two pieces that are bent into place instead of one solid contact.The tires are too big to accommodate some bodies and the front axel is a nail.
