Synopsis
In the last five years, Mario Calabresi has collected a series of interviews to renow - ned international pho - tographers. The result of his meetings is this book: an exciting dive into history through the images and the words of great witnesses that have captured and lived some of the most tragic and intense momen - ts of our past. With an engaging prose, able to transmit the strength and the emotions of the protagonists, Calabre - si guides the reader in a fascinating journey through time, offering him an incredibly privi - leged perspective: the eyes of photojournali - sts who have created the common historical memory. So, here it is Paul Fusco that narrates Bob Kennedy's funeral, or Josef Koudelka that describes the first moments of the arrival of the tanks in Prague, or John Morris that is still moved remembering his friend Robert Capa, and then Salgado, Erwitt, McCullin, Webb, Abbas, Pellegrin, Scianna and Basilico. At the end, a chapter about three young photojour - nalists: Alessio Romenzi, Fabio Bucciarelli and Pietro Masturzo, With Open Eyes is the collection of Mario Calabresi's interviews with renowned international photographers (Steve McCurry, Don McCullin, Elliott Erwitt, Paul Fusco, Josef Koudelka, Alex Webb, Gabriele Basilico, Abbas, Paolo Pellegrin, and Sebasti o Salgado): an exciting dive into history through the images and the words of great witnesses who have captured and lived some of the most tragic and intense moments of our past, creating the common historical memory with their photographs. Mario Calabresi , writer and journalist, has been editor in chief of the Italian newspaper La Stampa since 2009. A graduate in history, he worked as parliamentary reporter for Ansa and at La Stampa newsroom in Rome. He was news editor at la Repubblica and, as contributor from New York, he followed the presidential campaign and the election of Barack Obama., Intense, fascinating, rich in extraordinary stories. This delivery was earliest date! Condition, value, quality - all as described. (My mistake was not requiring the publishing date to be 1958. This was 1977.) This IS a Viking Portable Library copy of Dante's Divine Comedy in English, translated by Laurence Binyon, but it is with a cover DIFFERENT from what was shown. The tracking number was listed as from "UPS", but should have been listed as from "USPS." Contact with this seller alleviated tracking issues. I recommend this seller! Thank you!
