    Great sound on the DVD

Indian music, rock and roll, a little humor & some pathos. Early 70s / late 60s mass entertainment at its finest. The film appears in "full frame" 1.33:1 ratio, which may be how it was shown on screens in 1972 though I doubt it . . . Otherwise, no complaints. Extra features include outtakes, rehearsals and a documentary on the origins of this historic event and the making of the film. If you're interested at all in this show, don't hesitate to pick up a copy of this if you can afford one.

  • 1st Fundraiser Concert for Humanity

When the Movie came out (1972?), I saw it on the Big Screen several times with my friends. The audience was very active at Madison Square Garden and Phil Spector mixed them into the Soundtrack. A timeless Concert that I ALWAYS wanted a personal copy of. Now I have it!

  • The first all-star benefit concert

Always one of my favorites, my VHS finally became unwatchable. I'm glad to have the DVD with better quality. George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Ravi Shankar, Billy Preston, Ringo & more - it's good music that has stood the test of time.

  • An inspiring film.

I saw the movie in the theater when it was first released and I loved it. I recently decided that I wanted to see it again and was not disappointed. It is wonderful to see George, energized by the success of All Things Must Pass, bring together a great group of musicians for a good cause. It was fun remembering how Ravi Shanker reacted to the applause for the tuning of their instruments. It was fantastic to see George doing some of his best songs live. Bob Dylan's performance even impressed my wife, who is not a Dylan fan. All in all it was nice to see this again and to know I can now see it whenever I'd like.

  • Long ago charity concert that was the precursor to all those later efforts.

Great concert featuring wonderful artists performing in their prime. Rare footage of Jesse Edwin Davis in this early 70’s showcase with Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Bob Dylan, Klaus Voorman, Carl Radle, Eric Clapton, Ringo, Ravi Shankar joining George Harrison on stage. Background vocalists include Claudia Lennear.
