This is the kind of book every author wished he could write...mind blowingly good!, Accurate, intense and raw, SAVAGE SON taps into our most primal of instincts. If you need something to get your heart pumping, this, right here, is it., A badass, high velocity round of reading! The three parts of this masterfully crafted experience says it all--THE TRAP, THE STALK, THE KILL., Impressive...Carr is best when bullets are flying. Vince Flynn fans will enjoy the explosive action, With his new novel, SAVAGE SON, Jack Carr continues to amaze me. He's the real deal. Having lived the life he writes about, he absorbs the best of the thriller tradition and moves it forward. Thoughtful as much as visceral, he's my idea of what a thriller author should be., Whether you are a hunter of four-legged game or of man, SAVAGE SON will stoke the inner fire of your soul. Jack Carr's attention to detail and experience from the battlefield to the backcountry draw the reader into the field to experience the art of war through the eyes of a man who has lived it., Jack Carr is the real deal! Before you open the cover and start to read, get comfortable. You won't want to move until you finish., Absolutely fantastic! SAVAGE SON is savagely good, and puts Jack Carr at the very top of the thriller genre., In James Reece, Jack Carr has given thriller fans a very human hero born from Carr's own real life experience as a Navy SEAL sniper. In SAVAGE SON the pages bleed authenticity and tension as Reece is forced to battle his most dangerous adversary yet. Gripping. Heartbreaking. Unforgettable., With his third book in the James Reece series, SAVAGE SON, Jack Carr HALO jumps the reader into that most dangerous game: man hunting man. With technical ferocity and devastating action sequences, Carr writes both from the gut and a seemingly infinite reservoir of knowledge in the methods of human combat. Loved it!

A traitorous CIA officer has found refuge with the Russian mafia with designs on ensuring a certain former Navy SEAL sniper is put in the ground. Half a world away, James Reece is recovering from brain surgery in the Montana wilderness, slowly putting his life back together with the help of investigative journalist Katie Buranek and his longtime friend and SEAL teammate Raife Hastings. Unbeknownst to them, the Russian mafia has set their sights on Reece in a deadly game of cat and mouse. In his most visceral and heart-pounding thriller yet, Jack Carr explores the darkest instincts of humanity through the eyes of a man who has seen both the best and the worst of it.

    • Typical superhuman SEAL vs. vast demonic conspiracy and US Govt corruption. but very well done.

Jack Carr is a good writer. Keeps the story moving. I'd say he's a good deal better than Brad Thor or Vince Flynn, on the average. Not to say they are bad, Thor is pretty good, especially his earlier novels. the only quibble I have with the story is this: there is no man on earth who could hit a man at200+ yards with an M1911 pistol ! If Carr was special forces he should have known this. And an M1911 is NOT a suitable gun for defending oneself at against grizzly bears! if he wanted his protagonist to have a handgun in addition to his bow, it should have been at least a .44 Magnum with a long barrel. it would be damned hard to hit a man at 200+ yards with a long barreled .44 Mag, but doing so with a 1911 is , well like doing it with a sllngshot.

    • Round 3!

Great continuation of the James Reece saga! Yes there is product placement, but to tell the story through character building, and detail. Ok maybe a little for the brands, and community that supported Jack Carr, but so what.
