Just a "Back-Up" Just in Case....
I bought the Broan Bathroom Vent System and read that the Heating Element can pfffft out if you leave the heater on too long. Sooo I got a 15 minute timer AND a back-up heating element so I can "cover" any problems that might occur in the future. That I will have it handy will save me a lot of time and trouble. Otherwise the bathroom vent unit I bought is supposed to be pretty darn good. I hope so. It's my first purchase of this sort and I READ THE REVIEWS! Broan heating element
This is not a very good design as these elements only last us about a year and then they go bad. I’m used to changing them and they aren’t too bad to change out. This unit wasn’t a cheap one and I didn’t expect this to be such a problem, I’m glad that these parts are easy to get and fairly inexpensive. I expected a better design from them but it’s all about cheep and forget about quality. If it wasn’t so difficult to change the unit out I would, probably will anyway especially if I can find one with a decent designed heater and Broan can forget about me buying any more of their junk.This is not a very good design as these elements only last us about a year and then they go bad. Nutone heating element
I put the top of the line Nutone heat/ vent/ light/ night light unit in both bathrooms in my new home about five years ago. I have to replace a heater unit in one of them at least once s rear. I contacted the company for suggestions after I had the electrical part double checked. I was told to not leave them on so long! Are you kidding me? No where in the paper work does it mention a time limit. I've had cheap ones run all day. Very dissatisfied with the cost, ferformance and customer support.
