    Bullfrog Snot Works

I recently purchased a brass HO SP 4-10-2. It looks super and runs great. It was a pretty good puller but after some running it would only pull 8 cars up a 2.2% grade. Any more would cause the drivers to slip. I think it might I have slipping previously but I did not notice and the drivers might have become polished. I decided to try Bullfrog Snot and this stuff is great. This locomotive can now pull 17 cars up the same grade. My first application wasn't the best as I got a few more lumps in it than I would have liked. Next time I'll try a different applicator and maybe try thinning it some too. I applied it to all the drivers on the insulated side and than was a mistake. The lead driver began detraining as the locomotive entered curves. With such a long wheel base and a few ...

    What a mess.

I had high hopes for this product to provide traction for my MTH template engine. I watched several videos on YouTube to learn how to apply this product. It was much more difficult to apply. It was very difficult to get it even on the surface of the wheel. The first time it hardened I found it to be very bumpy and the engine would not run on the track. It also was very difficult to remove so that I could try a second application. I had to use sandpaper to get all of it off and it took a considerable amount of time. The second application I tried him out a little smoother but it did not do anything to increase traction. In fact all the engine did was spend its Wheels on the track. Again unlike the process to remove. I did not try a third time. Very disappointing. The product is not cheap ...

  • Easy to apply,great results

I was not sure of this before I bought it, I put this on wheels of my O gauge Lionel steam engine from the prewar era, it had been slipping bad when I slow down in curves and on take off, to my surprise this stuff really works good,I followed the easy instructions, let it cure , It gave this big heavy O gauge train the traction it needed, it is practically invisible one it drives,it reminds you of having traction tires, you cant go wrong with this Bull Frog snot

  • Great traction

I heard about this stuff but didn't fully expect it to work as stated. I tried putting some lines on the belt of the Lionel log loader. Although not perfect, it does seem to grab and pull the logs a little easier. I covered the 2 center wheels of a 2026 that could just barely pull 4 cars around the track without the wheels spinning furiously, and the next day (after curing, per instructions), it was pulling 10 cars without any slipping. It's a little tedious to put on, but with some patience, and following directions, it works great. I am amazed.

  • Great alternative to traction tires.

Works very well and so far it is very durable on O scale locomotives. There is a bit of a learning curve. I had to dilute it with a couple drops of water and apply with a small paint brush but once I had a technique down it's easy to use. You might need a couple of coats to fill the traction tire grove on and O scale loco but it dries fast and second coats, if needed, can be done relatively soon. Once cured it can be trimmed down or removed with an x-acto knife. Just follow the directions and possibly dilute SLIGHTLY for larger scales.
