Lustig and Cohen: A match made in exploitation heaven.
William Lustig (MANIAC, VIGILANTE) and Larry Cohen (IT’S ALIVE, GOD TOLD ME TO) turn out to be a match made in exploitation heaven. Until the year 1987, when the two titans of 42nd Street Cinema team up with two of the greatest B-movie actors of our time, Bruce Campbell (THE EVIL DEAD trilogy) and Tom Atkins (NIGHT OF THE CREEPS) for MANIAC COP! An undead, uniformed police officer stalks and murders innocent citizens in the dangerous streets of New York. Rookie cop Jack Forrest (Campbell) becomes the prime suspect after his wife is killed, and his life has turned upside down. Obsessed Lieutenant Frank McCrae (Atkins) begins to discover foul play as these bizarre slayings are part of a complex cover-up within the police force. From a production standpoint, the aspect of the film is certifying grim and fast-paced thanks to Cohen’s satirically-laced script. Jay Chattaway’s haunting score effectively brings a haunting atmosphere into the title character’s fall and resurrection. The make-up effects are top-notch and frightening therefore it evaluates the film even higher on the scare factor. Friends, rejoice at the sheer awesomeness of MANIAC COP!

You Have The Right To Remain Dead
Maniac Cop is a true classic. Officer Matt Cordell was a hard ass, take no prisoners effective cop. A Man with no tolerance for crime nor the people who commit it. After being betrayed by the system and sent to prison with alot of criminals Hed put away, inmates get the drop on Him and injure Him by slicing Him all over His body. Suprisingly enough He survives, and becomes the most frighetning cop ever. Killing off innocents and wreaking havoc in the city. The film stars Tom Atkins, Bruce Campbell, and Robert Zdar as "Cordell".Maniac Cop is a true classic. Officer Matt Cordell was a hard ass, take no prisoners effective cop. Maniac cop special.
Great movie, plenty of action so you don't get bored and it has got a great story. All I need now is the unrated version of number 2 which I can't seem to find any were. I have got the unrated version of number 3 which has a r rating on the box, so Im not sure if it is the unrated version, because I have never seen it before. My rating of this maniac cop is 10/10. Thank you Robert from cheshire.Great movie, plenty of action so you don't get bored and it has got a great story.
