Eddie Murphy stars as a workaholic real estate agent, Jerry, who interrupts his family vacation to checkout a remote mansion that is up for sale. The house is haunted and Jerry, his wife, and two kids end up getting trapped in it -- they encounter a ghost owner, a ghost butler, a gypsy woman's ghost, and ghost servants. The rest of the movie features a variety of mild-horror enhancements like zombies, eerie screams, and dark tunnels -- all recreating various sections of the Disney ride. The film is a harmless, bloodless production that befits a kids' audience due to its lightheartedness and cheerful suspense.

    We love this movie, its a must watch this time of year! A few scary parts for my 9 ear old, but he was able to watch it, it wasn't leave the room scary.

    Disney film starring Eddie Murphy as a real estate agent who is interested in an old mansion with a shady past. He is a workaholic who often has little time for his family thinking only about his career. Under the ruse of taking his family away for a weekend at the lake, they wind up at this spooky old mansion in the Louisiana swamps. It isn't long before they are all beset by ghosts and assorted paranormal entities. The dead former owner of the mansion, falls for Murphy's wife thinking she is his long dead wife, along with spirits of former servants and who knows how many others in this hilarious "spook-fest". The film, obviously targets the 13-25 year old market and is a little too slapstick for older adults (over 25-30). Still it is an entertaining film without the usual dirty language ...

    Disneys THE HAUNTED MANSION is a VERY VERY GOOD MOVIE!! The kids love it, as well as the adults. Its funny, entertaining, and inspirational at the end. GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS and it will keep your attention from beginning to end. GREAT ACTING CAST and PERFORMANCES!! You'll be sure to want to watch it again and again!     A fun, scary movie 'Disney-ized' with a lot of humor. Great for Halloween!

    A fun Disney movie with humor throughout. We like to watch it at Halloween time. That being said, it can be a bit scary for younger children. The main character hangs himself right at the beginning, after his finance dies. There is a scary scene where Eddie Murphy as a realtor, goes through a haunted part of the house and looks in a mirror and his face is zombied. There are pretty scary mummies in the cemetery crypt chasing the dad and kids. There are some ghosts acting out their final moments in the cemetery, but put in a more humorous way rather than scary. And in the end the bad guy is dragged down to Hell through a fireplace. It's a scary movie 'Disney-ized'.
