Trotz Verstaatlichung nahm der französische Automobilkonzern Renault nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg einen rasanten Aufschwung und konnte sich schon bald als größter französischer Autobauer etablieren. Mit Erfolgsmodellen wie dem Renault 4CV (dem berühmten »Crémeschnittchen«), Renault 4, 16 und 12 hatten die Franzosen auch im Ausland Erfolg. Als das Unternehmen in den 1980er-Jahren in eine schwere Wirtschaftskrise schlitterte, verhalfen Renault in den Neunzigern die Modelle Clio und R19 wieder auf die Erfolgsspur. Andreas Gaubatz und Jan Erhartitsch stellen alle wichtigen Renault-Modelle vor, die seit 1945 erschienen sind.
