  • INDISPENSIBLE for the serious student of military history!

    If you are trying to understand ww2 battles, you simply must have at least one very good map book. I have all of the West Point Atlases (Civil War, WW1, WW2-ETO, & WW2_PTO), and I use them all the time. But they're even more instructive when paired with battle atlases with extensive description and maps from different perspectives, emphasizing different elements. My favorite is the Collins Atlas of the Second World War, but the Atlast of WW2 by Jordan and Wiest and Pimlott's Atlas of WW2 are also very good. When I am really digging to understand a battle of campaign, I use ALL of these AND I watch the superb documentaries available on YouTube from HIstoryMarche, Kings and Generals, TIK, Epic History, etc. The more perspectives you consider, the better your understanding.
