fun Mission play
I enjoy the set missions. It is also not overly complicated. There is an easy guide onscreen map. The return of old characters and fun new ones keeps it interesting. I know this is an older game but it is still a lot of fun.

Game not working
I've been trying to get past around the 5th mission but the game constantly freezes, and sometimes it freezes when I load my game. It gotten to the point where it's unplayable and I would like to return this item.

Jak: very dark adventure in a dingy city
Jak II is like the original Jak & Daxter only in the main characters. The hero is captured and imprisoned in a very dim, slum-like city of contrasts being run by an evil Baron and the "metalheads." You get serious weaponry, and missions are unrelenting and HARD. And I mean throwing-the-controller-in-frustration hard. There is no difficulty setting. If you expected a traditional platformer like the first game, forget it. While there is an occassional dungeon (or sewer) crawl, and some areas require you to control Daxter. the lightheartedness and silly missions (chasing moles into their burrows) are completely gone. The atmosphere is dark, brooding... like Jak's DNA got mixed up with Doom III. Controls are good, but you'd best have nimble fingers. The greatest difficulty is in controlling ... Jak II is like the original Jak & Daxter only in the main characters. The hero is captured and imprisoned in a very dim, slum-like city of contrasts being run by an evil Baron and the "metalheads." Be patient and be prepared for frustrating repetition; I'm told it is a good game... but I've never got past 2/3 of it! Graphics are excellent, lots of scenery and side quests, vehicles, and eerie atmosphere with great music. Just hit a patrolling cop and see what happens! But if you are looking for a platformer with great graphics that plays easier and with just as much fun, try Ratchet & Clank series which uses the same game engine.

But with the addition of guns you still have the same non-weapon attacks like the spin attack or the punch attack. There really is nothing else in the way of changes of game play. Graphics: The graphics are really good espcially if you put in the fact that it came out in 2003. It is a great leap in presentation over the original, but that is not really giving anything good to this game, cuz' the original just looked horrible. Now when you think about it, it does not beat Jak 3, but that is of no fault of Jak 2. Audio: The music does a good job of keeping you involed with the story of the game and it is really great to just listen to (if you don't have the Krizon guard ... Good, could be better.
I really like this game. A lot of fun, and the story is good too. The only thing I hate are the hover vehicles. They suck balls and are hard as all get out to control and make good turns/use out of them.
