    It's sharp out of the box, no need to sharpen it before use. The quality of the blade material is great you can feel the difference as you work with your project!

    Fantastic compared to anything else

    Fantastic tool. Feels great in the hand, well balanced, the hand hammered, hefty steel blade is superior to western blades, holds the sharpness after several jobs. The hardwood block is of good quality and rock solid. Adjusting as easy as knock on the block for up or the blade for down. Make it parallel takes a bit of learning but not hard. I have a smaller version too, can't be without it as a luthier. I want to buy more. Incredible fun to work with don't seek ever buying a metal western plane. One more thing, it has been designed to pulled not pushed but I use both way no problem. Magic of well made, precise simplicity.
