From Jason Friedberg and Aaron Setzer (DATE MOVIE, SCARY MOVIE) comes this everything-in-the-kitchen-sink, blender-set-to-grind comedy, which pokes fun at big crowd-pleasers like WILLIE WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, CHRONICLES OF NARNIA, SNAKES ON A PLANE, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, X-MEN, NACHO LIBRE, and THE DA VINCI CODE, among others. The loose plot involves a gang of teen orphans (including Jayma Mays and Faune A. Chambers) whose trip inside Wonka's candy factory leads them to a Narnia-style wardrobe adventure. Jennifer Coolidge is the evil White Bitch they have to tangle with in this new land, and Fred Willard plays Aslo, the lion. Scene-stealing Crispin Glover plays the Wonka-be, David Carradine breakdances, and the vivacious Carmen Elektra morphs enticingly in X-MEN-style blue body paint. A bevy of eerie look-alikes pose as Paris Hilton, Anna Paquin, Samuel Jackson, and P Diddy, among others. Of course there's raunch a-plenty with humor both scatological and shot-to-the-crotch-ish, to keep the MTV generation of all ages amused. The jokes come so fast that no one need worry if a gag here falls flat: another one is right behind to jump on its back. Best of all, the directors keep a tight ship on the bad language, as befits the PG-13 rating.

    Epic Movie an Epic Failure

    I love a good spoof and have been a fan of the Scary Movie series. I even enjoyed Date Movie. So having missed this one in the theatres I couldn't wait until Epic Movie came out on DVD. I didn't even rent it first- I went straight for the purchase... I shouldn't have... really... I don't think my husband or I uttered a single laugh throughout the entire film. We kept watching just waiting for it to get better, but it never happened. SO disappointing... If you are a fan of spoofs you'll probably want to check this one out despite the poor reviews- but I'd definitely recommend renting it first. The majority of the spoofs in this movie appear to come from The Chronicles of Narnia (Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe) and the storylines of the 2 movies are very similar. It also includes a few ...

    Epic Movie

    To be honest it was ok. Not as good as the scary movies or even date movie. They shoulda had all 6 writers instead of 2 of the 6. The movie felt short and had some parts that was stupid. Like the kanye west "bush dont care about black people" part. The movie starts off with 4 orphans who go into willie wonkas factory. One orphan goes into a room with the wardrobe and goes in it. She ends up in gnarnia. Thats where the whole movie takes place. I dont want to spoil the rest of the movie. Get the unrated version. It has some nudity but I think its better then the theatrical release. If one of your neighbors or friends have this movie ask to borrow it to see if you will like it.

    What a waste of time

    Epic Movie I highly recommend you don't waste your time (or money) renting or buying this film, it is terrible. Wow... I didn't think spoof movies could get any worse than Date Movie (which was decent, but the worst spoof film I'd seen to date) but Epic Movie takes the cake. Epic Movie gets my vote for the worst movie of the last 10 years, seriously, it is that bad. Final Verdict: 1/5 Worth buying?: Nope, nada, zip, zilch, zero

    A Waste of Time and Money

    I liked the Scary Movie spoofs and was looking for wad to watching this one. What a disapointmnet. This has to be one of the worst movies ever made. It will be awhile before I go to see another Jason Friedberg / Aaron Setzer flick. Save your money and watch the evening news - you'll find mor humor there.
