Synopsis
Connelly's instant #1 "New York Times" bestseller comes to paperback. "A powerhouse drama . . . Connelly has mastered the form of the legal thriller on his very first try."--"New York Times Book Review.", This #1 bestselling legal thriller from Michael Connelly is a stunning display of novelistic mastery - as human, as gripping, and as whiplash-surprising as any novel yet from the writer Publishers Weekly has called "today's Dostoevsky of crime literature." Mickey Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense attorney who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, traveling between the far-flung courthouses of Los Angeles to defend clients of every kind. Bikers, con artists, drunk drivers, drug dealers - they're all on Mickey Haller's client list. For him, the law is rarely about guilt or innocence, it's about negotiation and manipulation. Sometimes it's even about justice. A Beverly Hills playboy arrested for attacking a woman he picked up in a bar chooses Haller to defend him, and Mickey has his first high-paying client in years. It is a defense attorney's dream, what they call a franchise case. And as the evidence stacks up, Haller comes to believe this may be the easiest case of his career. Then someone close to him is murdered and Haller discovers that his search for innocence has brought him face-to-face with evil as pure as a flame. To escape without being burned, he must deploy every tactic, feint, and instinct in his arsenal - this time to save his own life., This #1 bestselling legal thriller from Michael Connelly is a stunning display of novelistic mastery - as human, as gripping, and as whiplash-surprising as any novel yet from the writer Publishers Weekly has called today's Dostoevsky of crime literature. Great story

Twists and turns every step of the way. A defense lawyer takes on a case of someone he knows is guilty, but everyone deserves a good defense. He comes to find out this person committed a similar crime years earlier in which another man was accused. He advised this innocent man to plead guilty to a crime he didn't commit and now has to right the wrong he has done by persuading the innocent man to plead guilty and find a way to make his current client pay for both crimes. Michael Connelly really sets a fast pace and tells a great story.

  • The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly

As usual Michael Connelly has written a superb book. In this book he introduces us to a new character, Mickey Haller, who is a criminal defense attorney. While Mr. Connelly does an excellent job describing Mickey Haller and his work and methods I must admit I disliked the character. I love the Harry Bosch character so much and I fear that Mr. Connelly may be phasing Harry out and making Mr. Haller his main character. I know Mickey Haller appears in three of the six books written after "The Lincoln Lawyer." For those of you who have not forged a bond with the Harry Bosch character I think you will find this book a good read.

  • The Lincoln Lawyer

Michael Connelly is a Wonderful Author!! If you like John Grisham & his Court Room Stories, You will Absolutely Love this Book!! Reading this Book prompted me to look for other Books by this Author. I have been enjoying all his Fiction Works!! He has very Colorful but Believable Characters - I can't get enough of them!!

  • Fast Paced, Just What You Expect From Connelly!

It's a great, fast-paced, exciting legal novel with all the elements for a fun and enjoyable read that you won't be able to put down! I am an avid reader and this is one that I read in a couple of days! I think this is his best book yet. While it was a slow start, a plot twist grabbed my interest and I could not put it down. The ending was awesome, true Connelly...but I don't want to give too much away...read it and you won't be sorry!!

  • Very enjoyable book.

I look for titles by Michael Connelly and particularly enjoy his series about defense attorney Mickey Haller. The title "The Lincoln Lawyer" is a small example of the author's tongue-in-cheek use of words.
