    The Zero Stone

    I bought this book because I'm an Andre Norton fan. It is another excellent book in her "Forerunner" series, and is typical of the excellence of the rest of the series. I especially like the way she weaves a mystery around an item from the far distant past, and the power that comes to life in the item when the "right" person happens to get ahold of it. In this case the "item from the distant past" is a small stone. The Zero Stone. It is dull, lifeless, having no noticeable worth as a piece of Jewelry, until a human with latent "esper" powers learns that he can bring it to glowing life, and wield it's awesome power. This is accomplished partially by the aid of a strange, intelligent cat-like creature that becomes his uninvited partner when born to an actual cat, after it swallowed a ...

    The Zero Stone by Andre Norton

    I read this book when I was in my teens and I just loved it. I always wished I would have kept this book. I was so glad I could find it again. I think it's a great book to get young readers hooked on sci-fi! Andre Norton is the only sci-fi author that I will get and read EVERY book she ever wrote.
