Unclear if this expander's firmware is upgraded, and mixed this one up with my other one, so I'm not sure if it actually supports 7x4 ports to SATA, (No reply to message I sent) as the manual states 5 available for HDDs (24 ports). Earlier rev of the manual said only 20. Was unable to cascade to other expander with 2 SAS to SAS cables, and 2 SAS cables input via external. Got some firmware error and Kernel panik from the HBA. Work OK though, once cables were rearranged. Using 5 x 4 (20 ports).

I purchased the 9211-8i 6Gbps HBA LSI FW:P20 IT Mode from sholp-LYB. It was shipped and arrived in Toronto, Canada in 9 days. The card and cables came in box that was well packaged. The item was exactly as described. I installed it in my TrueNAS box and hooked it up to 7 hard drives with the cables that came with the card. TrueNAS recognized the card and the hard drives. I had no problems setting up a new pool.
