    Great book really shows kindness in action

    Puts acts of kindness in very simple terms, would recommend for ages as young as 3 yrs old. My 6yr old really enjoys the concept of bucket filling and makes many many obervations about the illustrations showing kindness filling BOTH buckets of the giver and reciever. A lot of adults could benefit from reading this story.

    Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol Mccloud is a wonderful story every elementary school teacher(k-2nd) should read. It teaches a great lesson about how to treat an individual. This is a great self esteem builder and teaches giving kindness, gets kindness back. I'm a 2nd grade teacher and I reference this book daily. I have a 3D bucket on my door and blank bucket filler papers in a ziplock bag. Students are free to fill each others buckets by writing nice things about a friend in the class. They place them in a 2nd ziplock bag and I read them at the end of each day. They get hung up and help the bucket in my class continue to overflow. Parents should also have a copy to teach their children how to be bucket fillers.

    This book teaches children that in order to be happy and to feel good about themselves they need to make others happy.

    Good book for children. Adults could benefit from the lessons taught in the book. If you make others feel good, you will feel better about yourself. There is so much greed in our society that this lesson needs to be spread widely.

    Excellent book for children and adults alike!

    I love the illustrations as well as the concepts. We are all called as human beings to help one another, treat one another with respect and to contribute to the greater good. This book does an excellent job of motivating these efforts. I will be using this in my classroom year round.
