Arrived fairly quick, in a plastic enclosure in a cardboard box with hard edges. Card is functional on all 8 PHYs with minor variation in performance. Physically it has signs of manual soldering with flux stains on the back, so may be a repaired factory second, which is OK. The firmware included was not the latest version but the BIOS was, which is an odd choice, but sas2flsh works so not an issue. Runs very hot but adding a 40mm fan keeps it at 40ºC or lower. Satisfied.

Seems to work, though still got surprised by the amount of heat it radiates with a passive heatsink. It really needs a decent airflow in the case or a dedicated 40mm fan.
