Better than expected. Very Busy Seller, but once shipped it arrived quickly, packed like something especially delicate and precious, and in better than listed condition… US sellers would’ve charged twice as much for junk. So, yeah. Handling time was long, but I couldn’t be more glad that I waited… this is great.

    Save Me From The 80's!

Great little unit for salvaging and porting over old 4 track cassettes to the digital realm. The pans on this are really spacious, and the level dials are easy enough to set a quick mix with. The drawbacks are no mute buttons on the channels, send/returns, and EQ of any sort. So this wouldn't be very good for one wanting to make some serious demos. But for those of us who had the pro Tascams and Yamaha's and all back in the day, this little guy spits the tracks back cleanly, clearly, and easily.

  • its a nice easy to use recorder for your home studio

i was using a yamaha mt 50 4 track and track 4 quit working so i started looking for something else. this tascam is easier to use than the yamaha but you cant adjust the treble and bass etc. after its on the tape.like you can on the yamaha also you cant adjust the pitch which is sometimes a pain because i record bass and piano and rythm. guitar and play along with it. zero stop would also be nice.tascams more expensive models do have these features just the cheep ones dont.i also thought i could play tapes recorded on the yamaha but they play at differnt speeds but thats my fault i should have known but if you want a easy to use recorder for your home studio it works quite nicely.thank you i hope this is helpfull.

  • Purchase of TASCAM MF-P01 Portastudio

I like the Portastudio because it is easy to use and it fulfills the need I have for a multi track recorder. I could not justify the purchase of a unit that uses CDs or SDs so this was a logical product for me. It is wonderful. It completely satisfies my need for a multi track recorder without requiring an outlay of hundreds of dollars. The description of the product was honest and accurate. It is worth more than I paid for it. I considered other units but after reading the descriptions I decided to bid on this one. I think I made the right choice.

  • analog tape 4 track studio

This analog studio is great because of less technical controls anyone with minimal experience can do it whereas a digital studio requires more brainwork to operate. Recommend to less technical type people who want to create music.

  • sometimes old fashioned technology is better!

I owned one of these years ago and it was very user friendly, and worked well to spite some bad consumer reviews about this model.I bought a Boss BR900CD digital studio thinking it would be better all around.I spent a lot of money for it,and even bought the Boss DVD instructional disk to learn how to use it along with reading the user manual and viewd Phil Gates video (who represents Boss) and still could not get the machine to record the way I wanted to record.the demonstrations look so easy but it is not a user friendly machine,so I bought a used Tascam MF-P01 just like the one I used to have and I am having a lot of fun with it.perhaps my next attempt at a digital recoring studio mixer will be the Tascam digital unit, and I hope it too will be better than that hard to figure out Boss ...
