Hank Hill (the voice of Mike Judge) is the patriarch in a Texan family. His main focus in his fatherly duties is to make his son Bobby (the voice of Pamela Segall) a man, a task that Hank doesn't find easy with Bobby's interest in science and pop culture outweighing more typically manly pursuits. Hanging out with a motley crew of trailer trash, Hank struggles to be a good father and a real man. Creator Mike Judge followed up his popular program BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD with this animated series offers hilarious insights into the modern American man. This collection comprises the entire first season showcases Peggy's Boggle skills, rites of passages in Scouting, and Hank's bowel movements.

    Love the show, DVD set only average

    King of the Hill is an adult cartoon. Not that it is profane or violent or offensive to children---but it really is for an adult audience. I love it, and I have since it first aired. This DVD set is great, as it has all the episodes, uncut, in great quality and all in proper order. Wonderful for 1st timers to meet the Hills and their friends and get into their lives. Start watching season 1 and for sure you'll want the rest. But there is a down-side in my opinion. I like DVD sets that give you extras (things aside from just the episodes), and this one does not have tons of extras. Some, but not nearly as many as they could. They should have taken a lesson from the Futurama DVD set, which is chock-full of extra tidbits for the fans.

    Awesome

    The King of the Hill series has always been one of my favorites. I don't get to watch on tv when it is regularly broadcasted, so I decided to buy the dvd this way I can watch it at my convenience. So far it has been a great investment, I've watched season one dozens of times now, and I know I will still watch it plenty more. The product itself was in good condition, a little wear and tear on the cover, but at a great purchase, whose complaining?

    Why is this show funny?

    Coservative Texas family and thier friends have a wide range of adventures some more belivable than others. Father is dedicated to his job, family and friends mother thinks she is smarter or more sophisticated than she really is and the son is not anyone you would consider as being cool. But what is so funny about this show is that America is full of people just like the ones on this show, not just in Texas but in every state and town you go to. If you don't belive me just watch the show and think about the people you know.

    Good Family Fun

    King of the Hill is an excellent animated show that'll capture the hearts of everybody who has a mumbling friend, a paranoid neighbor, an overweight friend who can't get a date, or a misunderstood son. Well, these guys aren't all that typical, but they're fun to watch anyway. From the creators of Beavis and Butthead comes King of the Hill, a more down to earth show than B & B, but every bit as funny. It's a comedy/cartoon that gives in to a lot of the stereotypes of Southern rednecks. Whether there are a lot of Texans that are like these characters I don't know, but they sure are fun to watch. Hank Hill and the gang give hours of entertainment in this first season. Just watch the first episode and you'll be hooked. I love the series and recommend it to everyone regardless of your ...
