    Works great with Text.

    Most newly purchased computers these days have the native ability to use multiple monitors which is very handy for things like having a document you're working on being displayed on one monitor while you can still do mail on the other. Older computers, such as the one I'm using, only have the ability to drive one monitor. To add a second monitor you need to add additional hardware. I wanted a second monitor, and I bought this Startech unit to provide basically a second video output. It worked perfectly. Note that most external multi-monitor per video adapters require that you have a USB 3.0 output port for the adapter. My computer only has USB 2, which works from a USB 2 port. For my use, document on the second monitor, miscellaneous other activities on the main monitor this works ...

    easy to install, poor performance, and will screw up your modern pc

    pros: *easy installation, compact design, nice way to add that xtra monitor Cons: *performed poorly and had very choppy, and lagging display especially with full screen video@ high resolution *software driver caused my win764bit to spew out svchost errors, among others, and constantly resetting my usb and video settings, sometimes causing my system to become unresponsive to the point I had to hard reset it cold. system specs: motherboard: asus sabertooth990fx cpu: amd 8350fx ram:32mb quad channel corsair vengeance video: ASUS GeForce GTX 780 GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5 dual monitors used sound: sounblaster x-fi fatality power: TX850 V2 Power Supply os:windows 7 64bit ultimate

    Works perfectly, Solved my problem at a very reasonable price.

    I bought a new computer recently and then discovered it only had USB ports. I use a second monitor and was in a bind since the monitor only has a VGA and DVI output. This adapter solved my problem. I connect my second monitor to the adapter and then plug it into a USB port. The device worked perfectly and I have my two screen set up back. I would highly recommend this device to others who need a second monitor and need to connect to a USB port.
