Dekker really messed with my head on this one.
Ted Dekker is known for strange stories and eccentric characters, but when I started reading this I was lulled in to a feeling of peace. The suspense starts right away, but you have to read about half the book before Dekker pulls his usual 'knock-you-off-your-feet' routine. The story was well written (read it a second time and you'll be amazed at how Dekker pulled this off; I won't explain that statement because it would ruin the ending for you, but trust me, Dekker is amazing) the characters were people for whom you felt immediate emotion, both positive and negative, and Dekker keeps you guessing until the very end. He even tells you things about the ending without really telling you and you won't believe the ending anyway. Absolutely wonderful book. Kudos to Dekker for another great ... Some people knock the book because of loopholes or inconsistencies. I disagree. The book flows well and the ending is both possible and believable. Without giving away the ending, I will say that the book is possible, the ending is possible and the reason is simple. People have serious issues. Why do you think the church, psychologists, psychiatrists and therapists are so profitable. Because people have problems, some more than others, and people react differently to the problems. Also, there are mental wards for a reason. FYI, an independent film company made the film recently.

this is an awesome book
This book will blow your socks off!!! You will never guess the ending! Ted Dekker at his best!!!! If you have started reading this author, this would be a great book to start with, it will keep you on edge up to the last page!!!

Good author.
I bought this book for my wife as a birthday gift, which was 3 days ago. She had asked for this book as she has read some more of the author's books and she really likes his writings. I can only assume that this one will be just as good as his others.

READ THIS BOOK!! lol
This is one of the greatest books I have EVER read! The movie is coming out January 5th but I recomend the that you read the book first. If you didnt believe the people who have told you this before, I hope I can confirm this: You will be on the edge of your seat thill the last 3-5 pages, and after the book ends you will be begging for more!
