Mikey says, try it. You'll like it!

I don't usually use nickel wrapped strings, but a friend said try them. I did and I really like them for their tone, sustain, and smoothness. They have a little stiffer feel than I am used to, although I am on my 3rd set and getting used to them more now. I say try them. My low B string makes my 34" scale bass sound more like a 35" scale on the B string; very clean and tight sounding, not tubby at all on any of the strings.

    Meh...they're okay....

....strings work fine....still prefer Dean Markley Cryogenics...brightness n' clarity are there, but, the Deans are brighter and clearer, w/ less, "brrrooowr"........ from string flapping, particularly in the B and E strings. When these start sounding dull, I'll go back to the Deans. .... just my opinion; make your own mind up. Try a set of both.

  • The Correct Gauging for 5 String Bass

The 2836 is superb for the following reasons: First, and foremost, the gauging. Strings 1 through 4 are balanced in tension, and conducive to extended string instruments. The 5th string at .130 provides a tight, low B. This diameter also resonates with a solid foundation on fretted notes. Finally, the 5th string balances in tension to the remaining set. Second, when someone says that you can't improve on perfection, is no longer in vogue. The hermetic packaging used by Ernie ball keep these factory fresh. This is a monumental improvement! As a former touring tech, determining the actual age of manufacture of strings was a matter of luck. I remember watching the artists I serviced perform -hoping the guitar or bass strings I installed held up. That headache is a malady of the past.

  • Best Strings

Buy Ernie Balls, you won't regret it. They sound great, while being cheaper than nearly every name brand string. I have a couple basses and guitars, and I restring frequently so that my recordings always have the best tone. Don't buy into the BS of "long life" strings. Nothing sounds better than brand spankin' new strings, and with Ernie balls you can restring your instrument many more times with the same amount of money.

  • Only put EB Slinkys on your EB stingray bass guitar.

Outstanding bass guitar strings. Slinkys are the only ones you want to put on an Ernie Ball bass guitar. Better be careful who you buy them from. They are only only made in California. Only buy from a reputable music store.
