With its 100 GB capacity, the 7K100 provides 66% more storage space as well as a 33% boost in sustained data rate over the record-setting Travelstar 7K60. Optimizations in the femto-based actuator/suspension system enable the 7K100 to endure 300Gs of operating shock, 1,000Gs of non-operating shock and 600,000 load/unload cycles, and contributes to its highly durable and rugged design. Enhanced Adaptive Battery Life Extender (ABLE) is Hitachi's third generation unique power management technology that significantly reduces power consumption, resulting in superior battery utilization and enhanced service life of host systems using the drive.

    great value for the money

    I bought this product because i had the same disk but in 5200RPM . The previous disk had a life of almost ten years before it crashed ( i use the laptop three or more hours almost every day ) so i expect the same from this one . The old disk was fast (first years fat format the rest ntfs format ) but this one is faster ( with the ntfs format even faster and i own a ten years old laptop with only 2 gb 667mhz ram ) . I have nothing bad to say about this product i am very pleased with it .

    Fast Hard Drive

    Really speeds up this older Dell laptop. 7200 makes so much difference and is reliable. I trust Hitachi due to my extensive experience with there drives.

    Great value for the money!

    I bought this hard drive to replace my dead hard drive on my old HP Pavillion DV2815nr laptop. Seems to be running well. The laptop seems to be running much faster than it used to before the old hard drive died.
